For Anderson Auto Group, philanthropy is about partnership.
Andrea Foote, marketing director, shared the vision of the Lake Havasu City, Ariz., auto group during the inaugural Philanthropy Pitch Competition at the 2024 NADA Show Live Stage.
“We don’t just write a check and sit in front of a car and take a picture,” she said. “We are partners with the people we invest our money in.”
That translates into active participation from the group in the nonprofits they financially support.
For example, Anderson Auto hosts events for the Special Olympics of Arizona and leadership from the group sits on the nonprofit’s board. Anderson Auto has a similar partnership with New Horizon Community Care, an Arizona behavioral health nonprofit.
The community spirit of the leadership is echoed throughout the team of 350 employees. This passionate workforce mobilizes to attend, staff and promote the nearly 100 annual events of the organizations the auto group supports.
The auto group has five locations in three Arizona cities, each with its own unique community. Each dealership focuses their philanthropic efforts to the local needs, ranging from youth to senior support.
“We try to focus on what that community needs,” Foot said. “What does that store represent?”
Anderson Auto Group was one six finalists sharing their community programs at the 2024 Philanthropy Pitch Competition.
