WASHINGTON (Dec. 10, 2009) - The National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) issued the following statement today after the U.S. House of Representatives voted to pass the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2010 (H.R. 3288), which included the dealer rights provision:

“We're encouraged by the prompt action of the House today in passing the dealer rights amendment. We're hopeful the Senate will do the same soon, and send it to the President for his signature.

“The amendment will provide a fair process to address dealer concerns about the recent closures of General Motors and Chrysler dealerships, and will give affected dealers transparency and the right to arbitrate to regain their dealerships.”
