TYSONS, Va. (November 1, 2023)—Following the introduction of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Energy Credit Online portal to facilitate consumer use of electric vehicle (EV) tax credits at dealerships at the time of purchase, NADA President and CEO Mike Stanton issued the following statement:

“This portal and the ease of registration is a strong and positive step towards allowing dealers to advance clean vehicle tax credits to consumers at the point of sale. America’s franchised car and truck dealers are doing their part to be ready for the electrification of the fleet and to maximize turnover of the country’s retail and commercial vehicle fleets. NADA looks forward to working alongside the IRS and the Department of Treasury towards a successful implementation of EV tax credits to spur mass-market adoption of zero emissions vehicles.”
