NADA Show 2020’s Closing General Session gave attendees a chance to hear from one of the most influential and innovative CEOs in the automotive industry, General Motors Chairman and CEO Mary Barra.

Barra admitted it was her first time attending NADA Show. “I’m just starting to understand the energy and importance of it,” she said. She praised NADA for doing a great job advocating on behalf of the auto dealer community and being a great partner with manufacturers. “We also look very carefully at all the feedback that we get from the NADA surveys very seriously and that really informs the decisions we make and the path forward,” Barra said.

It’s an exciting time for the industry, Barra said. “We’re seeing technology transform almost everything we see and we see the customer changing.”

Perhaps new 2020 NADA Chairman Rhett Ricart put it best: “As I take the keys to NADA, we’re going to gun the accelerator and power into 2020. “I promise that over the next year, NADA will be consistent, persistent, and sometimes damn insistent.”

Watch a video from the Closing General Session, including a fireside chat between Barra and 2019 NADA Chairman Charlie Gilchrist where they discussed the past, present and future of the industry and GM.
