The tax reform bill signed into law in December 2017 significantly changes how companies and individuals are taxed at the federal level. Last year, we also witnessed a slew of regulatory activity in other areas that affect dealer operations. The most likely person to investigate and sue a dealer is the state attorney general. There are certain compliance infractions and issues that attorneys general return to again and again. This workshop will identify key infractions of compliance laws and regulations, discuss ways to ensure dealerships are following these laws, and help dealers determine the appropriate course of action should they find themselves targeted by the attorney general.

Many everyday sales and F&I practices present serious risks to dealers from regulators and plaintiffs' lawyers. Do you add aftermarket products into Line 1 of a RISC? Do you fail to follow basic safeguards practices? Allow third parties to pull customer data from your DMS but state in your privacy notice that you don't share data?
