In a recent interview on Automotive News’ “Daily Drive” podcast, NADA’s Executive Vice President of Public Policy, Paul Metrey, spoke with AN's Omari Gardner about some of the most pressing issues facing the industry, including artificial intelligence and environmental regulations.

Metrey highlighted several achievements from the first half of the year, such as the successful challenge against the FTC’s Vehicle Shopping Rule, the elimination of the CARB ZEV mandates through the Congressional Review Act process, and favorable tax provisions for small businesses and their customers included in President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” among other successes.

Metrey also addressed issues the industry must still address, including the potential ramifications of tariffs, ongoing challenges to state franchise laws, and the existing federal GHG emission standards.

For a deeper dive on these topics, be sure to listen to the full episode of the “Daily Drive” podcast.
