Everything ATD does is for the benefit of nearly 2,000 truck dealer members across the country. To achieve our future goals with the best industry leadership at the helm, we have formed a new position and will soon hire an ATD President.
ATD and NADA’s executive leadership is currently holding a search to find the best candidate for this position. The new ATD president will be accountable for the overall success and impact of our association at large. We will soon be entering a new phase of strategic planning and implementation so we can further our mission in advocacy, education, and membership. Moreover, this leadership role will help guide all ATD matters particularly as we move toward an electric future. The ATD president will be involved in earlier stages of discussions especially when it comes to our efforts to protect the franchise dealer model.
And in just a few weeks, I’m excited to hand over the ATD reins to Incoming Chairman Scott McCandless at the ATD Show in Las Vegas. Scott is the president of McCandless Truck Center located in Colorado. He is a second-generation dealer and an accomplished ATD leader in our ranks. With more than 40 years of industry experience, Scott is well suited to lead our association over the next two years.
I hope you’ll be there to meet him in person when he takes the stage to deliver his incoming remarks at our ATD general session on Friday, March 11. I’m also very excited to address the ATD audience on Thursday, March 10 in my final week as your Chairman. I couldn’t have asked for a better team of dealer advocates over these past two years! Thank you for your support and resilience.
I’m truly excited for ATD’s future and the great leadership coming on board this year. I know with certainty that America’s truck dealers are in great hands!
