It wasn’t our first rodeo, but the NADA Show 2023 in Dallas turned out to be a bucking good time filled with four days of education, networking, maker meetings and event programming.
The last day of the Show—falling on NFL Championship Game Day—kicked off fittingly enough with an inspiring morning session featuring an NFL legend and Super Bowl Champion, Coach Deion Sanders.
Sanders talked about building strong teams and inspiring success and explained why consistency is one of the most powerful yet overlooked aspects of successfully motivating and empowering people. Sanders also spoke on the importance of personal accountability and working together as a team: “Make sure you put people in the proper positions so they can excel. Just because they are good at something doesn’t mean it’s their right position. You’ve got to get to know them.”
Here are some more highlights from the final day:
Live Show Sessions Provide a Glimpse into What’s Ahead for ATD
The NADA Show educational programming continued up to the end of the last day with workshops and Exchanges, the Dealer Learning Lab and the EV Solutions Center, Dealer Franchise meetings, Live Stage sessions, and the final session of the Show—a supersized version of the highly acclaimed Best of the Best Ideas From NADA 20 Groups.
ATD President Laura Perrota stepped up to the Live Stage on Sunday to give an outlook on what’s ahead for ATD this year. Some upcoming priorities include educating a new Congress on the importance of America’s truck dealers, battling environmental regulations like the EPA’s new nitrous oxide (NOx) rule, and supporting legislation that will benefit America’s truck dealers, such as bills to repeal the Federal Excise Tax (FET) on trucks.
Celebrating the Women Driving Auto Retail Video Contest Winner
Now in its sixth year, the announcement of the winner of the Women Driving Auto Retail video contest on the Live Stage is one of the most exciting events at NADA Show.
Women spanning every dealership department and all career levels submitted inspirational videos describing how their auto retail career journey began and why the industry is a great career path for other women. Each of the 10 video semifinalists received a $500 gift card and a chance at the grand prize.
On Saturday, Alicia Rivera from Trophy Nissan in Dallas and Leslie Jefferson from Pohanka of Salisbury in Salisbury, Md. were announced as the first-ever tied winner. Each receive a $1,000 gift card plus complimentary registration to NADA Show 2024 in Las Vegas.
